Job DescriptionThe Senior Auditor role contributes to a dynamic team-oriented environment and will be required to plan, supervise and execute Audit Committee approved financial, operational and compliance audits and advisory projects.
Typical project steps include understanding business processes, compiling information and analyzing data to define system or process risks, evaluating controls, defining value add recommendations and presenting results to business partners, including executive management, in both a verbal and written format.
Senior Auditor is also required to lead efforts to complete quarterly Audit Committee materials and other special projects or investigations.ResponsibilitiesPrimary AccountabilitiesManaging a team of auditors performing audit advisory and assurance projectsCoaching, training and supervising audit staffLeading all aspects of an audit project including the planning, risk assessment, control identification, testing, issue identification, recommendation development, and reportingWorking together with AutoZone management to assist in identifying opportunities to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness of processes and strengthen controlsEstablishing and maintaining effective relationships with management, external auditors, and other partners to further develop Company knowledge and auditing skillsUtilizing data analytics to identify trends and exceptions, measure process risk, evaluate control effectiveness, determine impact of identified opportunities and recommend sustainable business-focused solutions to enhance operations and strengthen controlsAssisting with the compilation of quarterly Board materials and Enterprise Risk Management program resultsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceLevel of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.Area of Study: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other business discipline, Master's degree preferredYears of Experience: Five to seven years.Type of Experience: Auditing, Accounting, Finance, or Consulting; CPA, CIA, or other audit certification a plusSpecial Certifications or Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other data analysis tools (e.g. Python, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, SAS, etc.) a plusOther/PreferredAbility to plan, organize and lead the completion of audit projectsDemonstrated leadership attributes including strong human relations, analytical, project management, and written communications skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to effectively communicate with multiple levels of management, including executive management, with tact and diplomacyAbility to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize workPossess analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrate knowledge of risk and controlsShow strong initiative and the ability to work in ambiguous situations with minimal directionProficient English speaking skillsAbout UsSince opening our first store in 1979, AutoZone has grown into a leading retailer and distributor of automotive parts and accessories across the Americas.
