*job summary*:
*key responsibilities*:
- prepare tools, molds, and work surfaces for aerospace-grade composite lay-up processes.
- accurately lay-up and position composite materials (e.g., carbon fiber prepreg, fiberglass) based on engineering drawings, ply books, and process instructions.
- perform vacuum bagging for oven and autoclave curing processes following nadcap-compliant procedures.
- monitor and document lay-up activities in accordance with quality assurance protocols.
- inspect and verify part conformity using aerospace inspection techniques (visual, dimensional, and first article inspections).
- collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve non-conformances and improve processes.
- ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in accordance with aerospace regulations.
*qualifications*:
- technical diploma or certificate in aerospace manufacturing, industrial processes, or a related field.
- minimum of 2 years of experience in composite lay-up processes in the aerospace industry.
- familiarity with as9100 standards and nadcap requirements for composite fabrication.
- ability to read and interpret aerospace technical drawings, work orders, and process documentation.
- strong manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.
- ability to work in cleanroom environments and follow esd, fod, and ppe protocols.
- desirable: experience with prepreg lay-up, autoclave curing, and material traceability systems (e.g., mes or erp systems).
