Position summarywe are seeking an experienced controller with a strong background in the automotive manufacturing industry to lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal control activities.the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, compliance, and operational finance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.this role will partner closely with plant leadership and corporate finance teams to drive financial performance and support strategic business decisions.key responsibilities- lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations for the plant/business unit.
- prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- manage month-end and year-end closing processes in compliance with gaap/ifrs and company policies.
- oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- monitor plant kpis, labor costs, inventory, scrap, and production efficiencies.
- ensure accurate standard costing, bom analysis, inventory valuation, and cost controls.
- lead financial planning and support operational decision-making through data analysis.
- develop and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with sox, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
- coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions when needed.
- partner with operations, hr, purchasing, and supply chain teams to improve profitability and efficiency.
- manage cash flow, capital expenditures, and financial risk assessments.
- lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
- support erp system optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.qualifications- bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- cpa, cma, or mba preferred.
- minimum of 10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience within the automotive manufacturing industry.
- strong experience in cost accounting and plant finance.
- experience with erp systems such as sap, oracle, plex, or qad.
- strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, internal controls, and manufacturing accounting practices.
- proven leadership and team management experience.
- advanced excel and financial modeling skills.
- excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.preferred experience- tier 1 or tier 2 automotive supplier experience.
- experience supporting multiple plants or international operations.
- knowledge of labor cost analysis, inventory control, and lean manufacturing principles.
