Position summary
we are seeking a commercially minded, relationship‑driven regional director who will, under the general supervision of the area managing director, be responsible for preferred hotels & resorts (ph&r) profitability across the hotels within the assigned region/client list. The primary responsibility of this role is to consistently engage and retain regional member hotels by managing and strengthening existing relationships, while working closely with the ph&r team to enhance both hotel and ph&r profitability through all managed reservation channels, as well as ph&r programs and services.
Key responsibilities

provide the first point of contact and facilitate all communication with ph&r for member hotels in the region.
Identify key decision makers and influencers at each hotel to build strong business relationships.
Maintain strong relationships with hotel leadership and decision makers, management companies, and ownership in the region.
Maintain regular contact with all hotels in the region by personal visit, telephone, and regional meetings, delivering all product training necessary.
Renew, with support of leadership, all existing member hotel contracts in a timely manner.
Work with property and ph&r revenue management teams to ensure optimal revenues to member hotels and for ph&r.
Work in close collaboration with the domestic and global sales team to ensure effective sales support is provided to all hotels within the region.
Conduct formal, scheduled, operational reviews (“business reviews”) with each hotel in the region on a regular basis and provide ad‑hoc support as required.
Monitor, manage and maintain primary responsibility for the accounts receivable of regional hotels with support of central ph&r finance team.
Initiate regional sales and marketing activities and programs to support member properties. Support and sell ph&r brand and co‑op programs within the region.
Work toward and report on the achievement of regional and position‑specific goals as defined by the company’s and the region’s annual goals.
Provide timely scheduled and, as assigned, ad‑hoc status reports on areas of responsibility.
Through relationships with existing properties in the region, develop lead opportunities for all preferred travel group business entities including preferred hotels & resorts, beyond green, historic hotels worldwide, ptg consulting and beyond green travel. Regional director to turn over leads to be worked directly by the regional director, mexico & central america, or amd, ptg consulting.

Required experience/qualifications

demonstrated travel industry related sales and marketing experience required.
A proven track record for developing customer relationships and strategic results‑oriented programs.
Fluency in spoken and written spanish and english.
Strong experience in hotel sales and/or revenue management or closely related.
Strong experience of managing budgets and profit & loss accounts.
Outstanding communications and persuasion skills, both written and verbal, required.
Strong analytical and multi‑dimensional strategic‑thinking skills required.
Strong knowledge of electronic distribution channels including digital.
High energy and high commitment required.
Strong teamwork and team‑building skills required.

Desired experience

degree in business (bb/bs/ba) with marketing or comparable experience gained in the hotel industry.
Competency in the use of business software for communications and presentations.
Experience of global markets, cultural awareness and international business practices.

Working conditions
this role will be based out of our preferred travel group office in mexico city. With our in‑office philosophy, our associates are expected to be in the office at least three days per week, supporting a healthy balance between in‑person collaboration and flexible remote work. Potentially 30% of time spent traveling, mostly within the region, but some international travel may be required. Training

general company orientation – cross discipline.
It orientation including office products, crm, reporting tools ptg tools training – outlook, crm, ptg member extranet and other systems.
Company and brand‑specific tools such as member portal, meetings site, accounting business portal.
Education and guidelines of brand standards and quality assurance program.
Brand member hotels and team knowledge.
Company‑approved ai technology.
