position purpose
the layout designer jr. is responsible for executing autocad drafting of all layers for new and existing autozone store prototypes. This includes supervising the maintenance and updating of current prototypes, such as fixture layers, text layers, dimensional layers, and reset projects. The role also involves uploading the fog line list for new stores on time, auditing and modifying existing layouts based on store operations' changes, generating new prototypes in collaboration with various departments, and documenting changes across functional areas.
primary accountabilities
* support the process of new store setup: clone planograms, ensure correct loading in flexogram, prepare final layout proposals, generate fixture downloads, and produce pdfs for store assembly.
* execute reset projects with process improvement: propose new layouts based on store needs, generate fixture downloads, ensure proper implementation, and update layouts accordingly.
* update store layouts to reflect current needs, including planograms, flexograms, and floor displays, especially for hubs/megahubs.
* design and develop merchandising layouts (fog), considering market and category data, sku management, and space optimization to facilitate proper store implementation.
* perform periodic store visits to verify layout integrity and improve space allocation, maintaining effective communication with related teams.
* liaise between category managers and operations to optimize space and improve margins through effective product placement.
education & experience
* bachelor's degree (ba, bs) or equivalent in industrial design, engineering, or architecture.
* 1-2 years of experience in store layouts, project management, retail, fixtures, merchandising, or visual design.
* proficiency in adobe autocad; knowledge of other cad software (sketchup, solidworks) is a plus.
* experience with microsoft office suite; retail background is beneficial.
additional skills: organizational skills, excellent interpersonal communication, ability to work under deadlines, teamwork, retail experience is a plus.
