*job summary*:
the tool crib master data and planning lead is responsible for standardizing parts data, setting up new tool crib operations, and optimizing inventory management across all sites. This role ensures consistency in part numbers, descriptions, and specifications, regardless of language or location. Additionally, the lead deploys best-in-class inventory management methodologies, aligning parts ordering with planned preventive maintenance rather than solely historical consumption and safety stock. The objective is to reduce on-hand inventory costs while increasing parts availability and eliminating stockouts. Collaborating closely with it, engineering, manufacturing, and other functional areas, the lead drives erp (eam) system enhancements and adoption, ensuring critical data accuracy and availability for effective asset management and maintenance planning.
*key responsibilities*:
- *standardization of parts data*:
- ensure uniform naming conventions, descriptions, and specifications across all sites.
- align part numbers and data across multiple languages and manufacturers.
- maintain a consistent and accurate master parts database.
- *new tool crib setup*:
- establish and organize new tool crib operations across various sites.
- define and implement standardized processes for tool crib management.
- ensure efficient layout and accessibility of parts and tools.
- *inventory management*:
- deploy just-in-time (jit) inventory practices and align ordering with planned preventive maintenance schedules.
- optimize on-hand inventory levels, reducing costs while maintaining high parts availability.
- eliminate stockouts by implementing proactive inventory planning and management strategies.
- enable automatic replenishment ordering by using contracts, blanket purchase orders, and material releases — and ensure timely follow-up with suppliers.
- *erp system enhancement and adoption*:
- collaborate with it to upgrade and optimize the erp (eam) system capabilities.
- ensure proper data integration and utilization across engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance functions.
- drive system adoption and provide training and support as needed.
- *collaboration and data management*:
- work with engineering and manufacturing teams to maintain accurate bills of materials (bom) and parts lists per asset.
- identify parts required for preventive maintenance and forecast demand based on equipment utilization.
- calculate and maintain optimum safety stock levels, considering service levels, lead times, and operational cost targets.
*qualifications*:
- bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, master data management, planning or a similar role.
- strong knowledge of erp/eam systems and inventory planning tools.
- proven ability to standardize data across multiple sites and systems.
- experience with just-in-time (jit) methodologies and preventive maintenance planning.
- excellent collaboration and communication skills across functional areas.
- analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
*preferred qualifications*:
- advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., apics, cpim, pmp).
- experience in a manufacturing environment.
- familiarity with multi-language data management.
