overview
the position is responsible for developing and providing production schedules for a specific product line, using order entry inputs as demand triggers in a make-to-order (mto) manufacturing environment. The role involves managing the overall supply plan and demand forecasting strategies to meet customer and business expectations, as well as coordinating, monitoring, and controlling transactional processes and wip inventory.
responsibilities
* develop and maintain demand forecasts for the assigned product line, including backlog information, historical sales analysis, and incorporating market campaigns or new product developments (npd) and changes (cods).
* confirm customer orders according to published lead times and requested dates. Provide timely alerts and drive resolutions for ottr missed orders, track performance, and collaborate with the crm team on order resolution, configuration, scheduling, and feedback.
* analyze current backlog demand and trends to recommend appropriate production rates that satisfy business and customer needs. Alert manufacturing operations of demand trends and capacity constraints.
* create a balanced production schedule with at least a 2-day cut-to-board (ctb) window. Monitor daily production performance, gather feedback for constraint resolution, and ensure proper documentation for production and manufacturing reports.
* coordinate, monitor, and control inventory transactions and wip inventory, ensuring accurate system recording and processing.
* drive and coordinate with engineering, marketing, and procurement teams on product lifecycle management (plm) initiatives, changes, and improvements for product enhancement, npd, and cods. Track pr resolutions and cn implementations.
requirements
* at least 2 years of experience in production planning and scheduling within a metal-mechanic manufacturing assembly process.
* supervisory experience managing groups of 5 to 10 people, with effective communication skills to instruct and persuade non-direct reports and extended teams.
* strong understanding of mrp, inventory control, capacity planning, sequencing, jit, kanban, and ability to interpret blueprints and bom structures. Apics or cpim certification preferred.
* proficient computer skills, especially in excel for data analysis and synthesis. Excellent analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required.
