Location: monterrey, nuevo león, mexico
reports to: executive leadership team
employment type: full-time | senior leadership
industry: truckload (tl) freight — dry van & flatbed | cross-border | brokerage
the opportunity
we are a family office-backed freight platform on an aggressive growth trajectory. Today we
operate 50 trucks. In two years, we will operate 500+. Alongside our asset-based truckload division
— running dry van and flatbed trailers across local p&d, regional, and cross-border corridors — we
are simultaneously building a parallel freight brokerage business from the ground up.
this is a rare, founder-level operational role for the right candidate. You will not be inheriting a
machine — you will be building one. We are looking for a true truckload savant: a driven,
entrepreneurial operator who thrives in complex, high-growth environments and has the technical
depth, leadership instincts, and relentless ownership mentality to define what best-in-class looks
like for our platform.
what you'll own
as director of truckload operations, you will have end-to-end accountability for:
▸ scaling operations from 50 to 500+ trucks while maintaining service quality, driver
satisfaction, and profitability across all lanes and equipment types.
▸ leading and developing a high-performance team spanning local p&d, regional p&d, and
cross-border operations — managing dispatchers, load planners, driver managers, and
support personnel.
▸ driving tms utilization to its full potential — ensuring all modules are configured, adopted,
and leveraged to maximize load efficiency, driver productivity, and cost control.
▸ partnering with the executive team to define and own operational kpis, then building the
dashboards and reporting infrastructure to make performance visible in real time.
▸ identifying system gaps and translating operational needs into clear, actionable technology
enhancement requests — including the design and deployment of agentic ai tools to
automate and optimize freight operations.
▸ building a service culture that earns loyalty from all stakeholders: company drivers, owner-
operators, shipper customers, third-party carriers, and internal employees.
▸ developing sops, playbooks, and training programs that can scale with the organization as
we grow.
▸ supporting the buildout of our brokerage division with operational infrastructure, carrier
relationships, and process frameworks.
▸ participating in executive-level planning around fleet expansion, market development, and
technology strategy.
who you are
the ideal candidate is a seasoned truckload professional who combines deep operational
expertise with a builder's mindset. You are:
▸ a proven leader with 6+ years of management experience in truckload operations, with direct
accountability for local p&d, regional p&d, and cross-border freight.
▸ deeply tech-savvy — you know tms platforms inside and out, you push for better utilization,
and you are energized by the potential of ai-driven automation in freight operations.
▸ a data-driven operator who not only tracks kpis but creates the measurement systems others
rely on.
▸ a clear communicator who can translate operational friction into structured technology
requirements and work productively with development teams.
▸ an entrepreneurial builder — you've grown teams, built processes from scratch, and taken
personal ownership of results rather than waiting for someone else to define the playbook.
▸ a people leader who earns trust across diverse stakeholder groups: drivers, customers,
carriers, and peers alike.
▸ bilingual (spanish/english) preferred given cross-border operations and executive team
dynamics.
required qualifications
▸ 6+ years of progressive management experience in truckload operations (tl carrier or 3pl
environment)
▸ demonstrated experience managing multi-modal teams: local p&d, regional, and cross-
border operations
▸ hands-on proficiency with transportation management systems (tms) — including
configuration, optimization, and team training
▸ proven ability to develop and present operational kpis and performance dashboards to
executive leadership
▸ experience communicating system/technology requirements to development or it teams
▸ strong understanding of dot/fmcsa compliance, hours of service, and cross-border
regulatory requirements
▸ track record of building and scaling operations teams in a high-growth environment
preferred qualifications
▸ experience with agentic ai tools, automation platforms, or emerging freight tech solutions
▸ prior exposure to freight brokerage operations or building a brokerage division
▸ background at a high-growth carrier, startup, or platform environment
▸ experience with flatbed operations and specialized equipment
▸ established carrier and shipper relationships in mexico/us cross-border corridors
why this role
▸ rare opportunity to build — not just manage — a trucking platform from the ground up with
real capital behind it.
▸ compensation structure tailored to attract the right leader and reward performance.
▸ executive-level visibility and direct influence on company strategy from day one.
▸ access to a technology-forward operating environment with a commitment to ai-enabled
operations.
▸ a leadership team that respects operators, invests in its people, and moves fast.
