job description
ensure the proper and timely billing of freight, while providing exceptional customer service within the customs brokerage department.
key responsibilities:
1. ensure smooth and timely customs process flow.
2. ensure accurate and timely client billing.
3. understand all elements of the import and export customs dlsop (desk level standard operating procedure) and interpret this information correctly to fulfill customer instructions and expectations.
4. ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
5. track and trace customs files.
6. verify documents received for import and export customs purposes are compliant and correct.
7. ensure compliance with all regulations, including internal policies such as ops and external government regulations or customer requirements.
8. understand department process flow and seek continuous improvement in efficiency.
9. communicate effectively with overseas contacts, respond promptly to emails and requests (internal and external).
10. escalate problems to management when necessary.
11. meet company standard of 52 hours of training per year per employee.
12. attend and complete mandatory training as required.
13. promote compliance by diligently following all company policies and regulations, performing tasks with integrity and pride.

qualifications
knowledge:
* good knowledge of customs brokerage processes and systems.
* understanding of ocean, transcon, and air documentation processes.
* knowledge of air, road, and ocean transport.
* basic accounting knowledge.
skills:
* effective interpersonal skills, including active listening and clear, concise communication.
* proactive with strong organizational skills.
* proficient in excel, word, powerpoint.
* basic english language skills.
* fluent in spanish.

education and experience:
