Job Description – L1/L2 Tivoli (IBM Workload Scheduler) Support

About the Role
We are seeking an L1/L2 Tivoli Support Engineer with strong experience in IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS/Tivoli Workload Scheduler) and solid knowledge of Linux and distributed environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing operational support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution for distributed scheduling systems, ensuring high availability and performance of business-critical batch workloads.
Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2 support for IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS/TWS/Tivoli Workload Scheduler) environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents related to Tivoli workload automation in distributed (non-mainframe) systems.
- Perform job scheduling, job dependency management, and workload optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze recurring issues and provide long-term fixes.
- Escalate complex problems to L3/Engineering teams as needed.
- Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven hands-on experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS / TWS / Tivoli Workload Scheduler / Tivoli Batch Scheduling).
- Strong experience with Linux (command line, scripting, troubleshooting).
- Solid background in distributed systems support.
- Familiarity with batch job scheduling, dependencies, calendars, and automation workflows.
- Good communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, SLA-driven support environment.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of other scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Autosys, UC4).
- Experience with shell scripting (bash, ksh, Python, or Perl).
- Exposure to ITIL practices (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
