The materials manager role is a strategic position that oversees the planning, procurement, and control of materials to ensure efficient production and timely delivery.

key responsibilities:
* lead the functions of materials planning, purchasing, warehousing, logistics, and traffic.
* ensure production schedules are met by securing material availability on time and in full.
* develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize costs and minimize supply risks.
* implement inventory management policies that balance efficiency, cost, and customer service.
* monitor and improve key performance indicators (kpis) such as inventory levels, turnover, obsolescence, otif, and forecast accuracy.
* coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain effective supply chain planning.
* drive continuous improvement projects in logistics, warehousing, and procurement to increase productivity and reduce costs.
* ensure compliance with corporate policies, trade regulations, and applicable legal requirements.
* develop, train, and motivate the materials team to achieve high performance.
requirements:
* bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, international trade, or related field (master's degree preferred).
* 7+ years of experience in materials, logistics, or supply chain management within the manufacturing industry (automotive or tier 1 experience preferred).
* proven experience leading cross-functional teams.
* strong knowledge of enterprise resource planning (erp) systems (sap, oracle, or equivalent).
* expertise in inventory management, procurement processes, and international trade.
* advanced english required for corporate and international customer interaction.
* strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
