Job summary
the maintenance technician will perform complex repairs to equipment used in manufacturing operations and maintaining equipment according to established standards. The maintenance technician may also repair and/or replace electrical components, weld parts, and adjust hydraulic systems.
responsibilities:
• repair and maintain production tooling, equipment, and machinery by diagnosing mechanical, electrical, or other operating problems; determine corrective action required to restore equipment to satisfactory operating condition.
• assist maintenance mechanics and repairers in their work as needed.
• work on any machine or piece of equipment where you are not specifically trained (i.e., mechanical) but do so under close supervision of a skilled tradesperson who has completed training for that particular trade.
• perform preventative maintenance functions such as lubricating moving parts, changing batteries, replacing air filters, etc.
• have a general understanding of how to read blueprints and schematics for repairs and replacement.
• disassemble damaged equipment and reconstruct it to working order.
• purchase replacement parts and stock them in the appropriate areas.
• keep records of parts ordered, received, and installed.
• other duties as assigned.
qualifications:
• previous experience working with electric motors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and basic structural needs for assembly lines.
• ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
• working knowledge of standard hand tools.
• possess good computer skills.
• strong problem-solving abilities.
• high school diploma or equivalent.
