Overview
global trade sourcing is responsible for defining the domestic and/or international logistics strategy by establishing strategic relations with service providers. This role owns us and global logistics terms & conditions, contracts, negotiations, supplier performance metrics, and supplier vetting and evaluation.
responsibilities
design, implement and execute policies, programs and platforms to enable compliant and efficient international movement of products and technologies.
define logistics strategy for domestic and international operations.
own us and global logistics t& c's, contracts, negotiations, supplier performance metrics, and supplier vetting and evaluation.
lead a team of 15 drivers and cover shipping/receiving areas.
ensure the safety of the supply chain for juarez–el paso operations.
balance queue at sterilizers and make effective decisions.
preempt problems and provide effective solutions.
interpret and apply company procedures independently.
provide guidance to less experienced team members.
maintain overtime availability and flexible schedule including weekends (switch shifts).
apply and teach new processes and skills for a wide variety of assignments.
qualifications & skills
~ high school diploma or ged.
~1 year of experience preferred.
~ excellent communication skills.
~ comprehensive knowledge in traffic coordination (import/export/drivers).
~ knowledge of intermodal logistics process (sea containers).
~ experience with customs software (vastera/ace manifest).
~ microsoft office 365 proficiency.
~ preferred experience in shipping and receiving area.
~ comprehensive knowledge in specialty area related to traffic & logistics.
~ experience in as400 modules (cima/prms).
~ ability to apply knowledge beyond own areas of expertise.
