the manufacturing manager performs essential functions to ensure the efficient production of goods, quality, and cost to meet the demands of our customers. Leads production teams, including production supervisors, technicians and hourly manufacturing associates.
responsibilities
* coordinate manufacturing activities of all shift’s operations. Responsible for all quality related issues as they pertain to the manufacturing area.
* promote and support safety objectives.
* direct the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards and promoting safety awareness.
* provide leadership and direction for the manufacturing areas.
* direct the department supervisors in the execution of their responsibilities to ensure meeting the plant’s objectives for producing and shipping the quality and quantity of products.
* ensures discipline within confines of plant rules and applicable laws.
* direct and approve programs and plans to improve employee relations and employee productivity; recommend/approve salary increases.
* monitor plant performance and direct the development of; and approve plans to improve output, quality, and costs.
* monitor production to ensure efficiency is maintained.
* schedule, plan and conduct morning production meetings.
* manage the coordination and control of all jobs/work orders.
* suggests manufacturing methods to achieve maximum productivity.
* reviews employee training to work assignments to assure safety in operation and quality compliance.
* implement and enforce good housekeeping standards by utilizing 5s principles.
* working out the material and human resources as needed.
* analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
* managing production budgets and implement cost control programs.
* prepare and maintain production reports.
* evaluate production equipment purchase/lease and conduct cost/benefit analysis.
* ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including purchasing, inventory and manufacturing engineering.
qualifications
* bachelor’s degree or equivalent in operations management, industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering. Master’s degree is desirable.
* at minimum of five (5) years of high-level experience in manufacturing. Experience in industrial, automotive, medical, telecommunications, fabrication, or electrical power generation a plus.
* bilingual english spanish.
* computer literate.
* knowledge of quality systems and standards.
* lean manufacturing principles.
* able to identify areas for improvement.
* ability to handle multiple tasks, with high awareness of deadlines.
* iso/ tl9000 experience preferred.
* excellent communication and presentation skills.
* project management knowledge.
* knowledgeable of human resources management and labor regulations.
