Summary:
sr merchandising analysts provide the data for the line review process and act as category management advisors. In addition to tracking promotions, contests, tests, and team objectives, they monitor team categories to ensure objectives are met. Sr merchandising analysts provide a statistical and financial foundation for merchandising decisions and consult other departments on merchandising practices and tactics.
job responsibilities:
* analyze and report data insights, identifying issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
* ability to build effective working relationships, partner, and influence stakeholders within and outside the merchandising team to achieve results
* ability to manage, prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously with varying completion dates and competing priorities
* develops understanding of department kpis and targeted merchandising strategies that will drive store results
* ability to work in a challenging environment relying on problem solving skills
* works on variable-sized projects and may lead some project work streams, as necessary
* ability to identify problems and ensure the prioritization and escalation is appropriate
* identifies opportunities and makes appropriate recommendations to improve processes and/or operating efficiencies. May perform as customer advocate
* partner with planning and forecasting to determine optimal assortment strategies (depth, breadth, seasonal vs. core assortment etc.)
skills and requirements:
* bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study (statistics, economics, business analytics, finance, etc.) or equivalent professional experience in analytics, pricing, insights, consumer research, inventory, category management and/or business analysis
* 5-7 years of experience in analytics, pricing, insights, consumer research, inventory, category management and/or business analysis
* strong technical skills, particularly in excel, sql, statistics.
* communicates effectively.
* effectively define/frame problems, identify data sources, process large amounts of data efficiently, translates complex findings by creating reports and managing the communication of insights in a consumable format that drives action and results
