we are seeking an operations manager to lead a delivery station.
key responsibilities
- manage the delivery environment for amazon orders, adapting to increasing volume and complexity, operating 24/7
- oversee day-to-day relationships with delivery service providers (dsps)
- drive operational goals and metrics; communicate vision to your team
- regularly present operational metrics to senior leadership
- identify and solve problems to close performance gaps
- hire, develop, and retain top talent; implement talent plans including recruitment, performance management, learning, and succession planning
- collaborate with partners such as transport & sortation, dsp management, finance, loss prevention, it, hr, aces, and engineering
a day in the life
the ops manager oversees operations for over 30,000 packages, managing on-the-road execution with dsps and drivers. Leads a team of 7 managers and 100+ associates, making key decisions and resolving escalations. Promotes a culture of safety, monitors and improves driver and associate performance, and ensures timely last-mile delivery.
about the team
responsible for establishing workflows, slas, and operational excellence at the site. Sets standards for delivery station management, leveraging industry best practices and technologies. Understands business priorities and customer needs, translating them into effective solutions. Brings operational insights to decision-making, partnering with finance for cost analysis. Experienced across functional and technical areas, capable of designing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale operations.
minimum qualifications
- bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of amazon experience
- flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, or holidays
- fluent in spanish and english
- 5+ years of employee and performance management
- 5+ years of operational experience
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques
- 6+ years of people management experience
- master’s degree
- lean/six sigma certification
