Job summary as a staff accountant, you will manage the day‑to‑day accounting operations for a portfolio of homeowners associations (hoas). This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget preparation, audits, and providing excellent support to community managers, board members, and internal teams. Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger and update the chart of accounts as needed. Prepare and record journal entries with complete documentation. Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Reconcile and balance accounts payable and receivable monthly. Research and resolve suspense items, contingencies, and unusual transactions. Prepare and review monthly financial statement packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Lead preparation of annual budgets and ensure accurate forecasts. Support audits and reviews by coordinating with the auditor. Manage routine banking and investment transactions. Respond to accounting inquiries from managers, community board members, and internal teams. Represent the accounting team at board meetings (as needed). Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy. Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and us gaap. Qualifications bachelor’s degree in accounting required. 3–5 years of accounting experience. Prior experience with multiple business units/accounts; us client experience highly preferred. Hoa/property management accounting experience is a strong plus. Understanding of us gaap regulations. Experience with cinc strongly preferred; crm experience is a must. Advanced excel skills.
