the cost accountant ii will support the cost accounting team at our manufacturing plant in monterrey.
this entry/junior-level role will assist in analyzing and controlling costs related to raw materials, inventory, and production.
the position involves preparing reports, supporting month-end activities, and providing accurate data to help improve efficiency and profitability.
*responsibilities*:
- assist in calculating and providing accurate costing and pricing for standard and special products.
- support in maintaining *standard costs* for raw materials, subassemblies, and finished goods.
- help analyze *boms (bills of materials)* and compare standard vs. actual costs.
- provide support with *cost estimates* for new products or model launches.
- assist in monthly *inventory and cost account reconciliations*.
- support the team with *analysis of inventory, fixed assets, and production variances*.
- help prepare reports on *excess & obsolete inventory* and raw material consumption.
- participate in *cost of goods sold (cogs) mix analysis* and cost simulations.
- support the finance team with *journal entries and account reconciliations* during month-end closing.
- provide assistance during *physical inventories and cycle counts*.
- collaborate with other departments (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, it) to resolve cost or inventory-related issues.
- help document and improve cost accounting processes.
- provide support during *internal and external audits*.
*profile*:
- bachelor's degree in *accounting, finance, business administration, economics*, or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance (internships/co-op in manufacturing or cost accounting are a plus).
- basic knowledge of *costing, inventory control, and financial reporting*.
- experience with *erp systems (sap is a plus)*.
- proficiency in excel and ms office.
- strong analytical, detail-oriented, and organizational skills.
- good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- proactive, disciplined, eager to learn, and results-oriented.
- * intermediate/advanced english preferred.
