Sales account manager job overview

the sales account manager role is a critical position responsible for growing and retaining market share and customer base in key segments while achieving profit sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to train and mentor entry-level sales roles, with a focus on new business development activities representing approximately 40% of their time. This individual will be expected to develop expertise in industry trends and be viewed as an expert in certain areas by customers.

key responsibilities

• territory management: managing current customers, new closes, and country strategy implementation
• distribution management: managing sales goals, training, and relationships
• special assignment management: implementing country strategy, driving sales growth, and overseeing closed projects

requirements

• 4-year college degree in a technical, mechanical, marketing, or chemistry background preferred
• 7+ years of relevant sales experience with a related industry and b2b experience, preferably with a chemistry background. Marketing and customer service experience also valued
• valid driver's license and willingness to travel

this role requires a strategic thinker who can balance territory management, distribution management, and special assignment management responsibilities while delivering results.
