Simplebuild is seeking a detailing manager to lead the development, coordination, and delivery of factory-ready detailing packages for modular electrical and building systems. This role sits within the simplebuild manufacturing environment and will serve as the key link between design, production, and field installation — ensuring that detailing is optimized for prefab, aligned with rye electric's install methods, and supports our broader mission to simplify and accelerate construction delivery.
this is a hands-on, leadership-level position responsible for managing detailing workflows, driving coordination with electrical and structural partners, and ensuring all designs meet the requirements for scalable manufacturing and field performance.
core responsibilities
1. Manufacturing-ready detailing
lead the creation and review of electrical and architectural shop drawings that are fully prefab-ready.
translate conceptual system designs into buildable kits of parts that can be assembled in a manufacturing environment.
ensure detailing aligns with simplebuild's modular templates, products, and installation methods.
2. Coordination & interface management
work directly with ryan and the rye electric team to ensure detailing meets field install needs and aligns with rye's workflows.
resolve interface challenges across electrical, structural, mechanical, and product teams.
host regular coordination meetings to align manufacturing, engineering, and field teams.
3. Process & standards leadership
create and maintain detailing standards, qa/qc processes, file organization protocols, and drawing templates.
oversee internal and external detailers; provide technical guidance and review.
drive continuous improvement of detailing workflows, using feedback from manufacturing and the field.
4. Sales & project integration
support simplebuild sales and estimating teams by developing conceptual and schematic-level details for proposals.
ensure customer solutions are realistic, scalable, and aligned with prefab capabilities.
package and deliver clear drawing sets to guide production and simplify installation.
ideal candidate profile
experience & skills
5+ years of detailing experience in electrical systems, modular construction, or building component manufacturing.
strong fluency in autocad, revit, and 3d modeling tools; ability to build and manage templates, families, and shop drawings.
deep understanding of prefabrication, modular manufacturing, and how to translate field needs into shop-level documentation.
familiarity with nec, commercial electrical systems, low-voltage systems, and general construction sequencing.
leadership & communication
comfortable leading a team of detailers and coordinating across engineering, production, and field operations.
strong communicator with the ability to manage input from multiple stakeholders and resolve issues quickly.
highly organized, systems-oriented, and capable of building scalable processes in a fast-growth environment.
