our client school is seeking a part time middle school mentors to teach visual arts and music grades 7th-9th in mexico city for july, 2026.
this position is only for 2 days a week.
this is a local hire position and does not come with foreign hire benefits.
this a new orthodox jewish school that is located in tecamachalco (cdmx).
candidates do not have to be jewish to apply but must be able to support and respect the culture of the school.
the successful candidate will possess the following:
· a bachelor’s degree in visual arts and/or music or a related field.
· successful experience teaching visual arts and/or music in a middle school or high school setting.
· teachers are expected to function as student coaches or tutors rather than traditional instructors.
· english and spanish are beneficial to this role as well.
· a teaching certification for visual arts and/or music is desirable but not required.
· experience with project based learning (pbl) is highly desirable.
· experience with social emotional learning is highly desirable. Teachers must be comfortable with social-emotional learning, which serves as a pillar of the curriculum.
· the school requires female-only teaching staff, maintaining a conservative dress code that includes wearing skirts and avoiding short sleeves. Mentors/teachers must also avoid visible tattoos or piercings.
· candidates must be flexible and willing to adapt as this is a new school and it will require dedication and patience to create a great educational project.

· the curriculum follows a common core middle school program consisting of four primary subjects—math, language, science, and social studies—and three elective credits, with music and visual arts being one of them.

· the standard school schedule operates from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, with early dismissal on fridays at 1:30 pm to accommodate preparations for shabbat.
· teachers are required to begin training on july 6, with classes officially starting on august 17. The schedule includes paid vacation blocks that align with jewish religious holidays in august and september, which fluctuate annually
salary: part time teachers will be paid by the hour.
