about the role
demand planner is responsible for managing and balancing the flow of information upstream and goods downstream the supply chain through demand forecast in ibp. The role involves using best statistical models and enriching forecasts through collaborative work with commercial and marketing teams to understand customer demand, trends, patterns and events such as tenders, new product launches, phase‑in/phase‑out among others. The role also aligns budget with finance, integrates risk and opportunity into forecast, and streamlines the chain with local, regional and global supply chain teams.
key duties and responsibilities
* integrate statistical forecasting with local market knowledge to enrich demand planning, accounting for deviations from statistical models and ensuring forecasts are only adjusted when accuracy increases. Prepare monthly demand review process by market and bu, gathering insights through pre‑works, statistical forecast management and demand review sessions culminating in forecast consensus sign‑off by market director.
* support clinic’s team on planning and inventory management.
* work in collaboration with sales, marketing and finance teams to analyze tenders and events, building risk and opportunity scenarios that support market decision.
* manage and control the event tool in ibp: driver‑based planning for tenders and opportunities according to market expectations and finance risk analysis.
* active participation in the yearly budget and quarterly latest estimate processes, providing the best demand forecast consensus to local teams as guidance to generate budgets.
* work with finance and sales on the vantage process (demand forecast and finance forecast), aligning numbers, understanding and closing differences and generating sales and inventory risks agreed by local teams; define inventory strategy through coverage profile, fixed safety stock and applicable lead times.
* coordinate with marketing, regulatory and commercial teams for new product launch, phase‑in/phase‑out or product changes through mep (market extension process), ensuring knowledge of skus, volumes, dates, pipo strategy and inventory risk; manage life‑cycle tools and files, fill demand‑planning inputs in mep formats and draw forecast strategy in ibp. Collaborate with sales and marketing in portfolio rationalisation.
* identify and address early obsolete or slow‑moving inventory through commercial or operational strategies to meet the company’s financial targets.
* monitor, control and develop strategies to enhance demand‑planning kpis: forecast accuracy, bias, doh and inventory value, bo/difot.
* manage forecast changes inside frozen periods or when change is significant through the ad‑hoc change process.
* ensure the planning system (mrp) has correct and complete master data. Lead s&op according to company standards, ensuring active stakeholder participation and responsiveness, following up tasks through action logs and onboarding new members to the process.
* support local supply‑chain members on business risks, inventory management and operational disruptions.
* lead s&oe sessions for specific projects where execution and operation heavily impact business performance.
* partner with sales to implement cpfr strategies in customers, driving fca results to improve efficiency and service level.
* manage information and develop strategies for supply disruptions.
* maintain direct communication with the regulatory area for effective supply; act as a bridge between markets and regional/global supply‑chain teams to communicate and manage supply disruptions and market opportunities; review and confirm allocations given from regional or global supply teams.

qualifications and education
* previous experience in demand planning.
* bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, administration, supply‑chain, logistics or related fields.
* specialisation and/or master’s in supply‑chain management (desirable).
* certifications related to data analytics or apics can be helpful.
