responsibilities
* the world’s leading bath & kitchen manufacturer is seeking a design engineer for our growing fittings engineering team in our r&d center in monterrey, mexico.
* as a design engineer you design and develop independently new products and product improvements primarily utilizing existing established product platforms and architectures under the grohe, american standard and dxv brand.
* you ensure all design work meets technical specifications, quality standards, and project schedules, contributing to the success of larger r&d projects by executing assigned engineering tasks with moderate complexity.
* the design engineer is responsible for delivering cost-effective, robust, and manufacturable designs that meet or exceed customer expectations, functional performance requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
* as a contributing r&d member you will collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, project management, quality, manufacturing, product marketing) as well with external supply partners.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering or a closely related field.
* 2–3 years of relevant experience in product design and development, preferably in a plumbing or fluid-handling environment.
* proficient in 3-d cad software ptc creo and product data management, ideally sap ectr.
* good working knowledge and practical application of gd&t and design for manufacturing (dfm) principles.
* demonstrated ability to develop products independently utilizing established platforms.
* solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills for moderate technical challenges.
* proficient in google office applications (sheets, docs, slides) and / or ms office suite (excel, word, powerpoint).
* bilingual proficiency in spanish and english (written and verbal) is highly preferred.
* strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical information.
* strong organizational skills, able to work independently with occasional supervision.
