Confirm packaging meets form, fit and ergonomic requirements for plant internal packaging/dunnage.
- initiate corrective actions to alleviate part quality concerns related to dunnage or handling
- support lean manufacturing continuous improvement (decanted marketplace, small lot containerization, flexible linefeed, returnable containerization, etc.).
- manage ford-owned container and material handling maintenance and cleaning projects
- manage stock piles, external warehousing, and logistics (supporting part re-pack, rust-proofing, container repair, dunnage washing, and long-term part storage).
- develop internal packaging/dunnage specifications and sign off ( global ford packaging specification)
- work with teams, operators, and material handling to improve workstation material delivery and presentation.
- develop layout proposals for unique operations or line rebalances.
- specify, purchase, and coordinate the installation of material handling linefeed equipment
- complete cost studies, capital improvement budget projects, forecasting packaging and container/racks costs, mh equipment requirements, floor space effect, material flow impact, and synchronous material flow system support.
education: high school diploma
2-5 years' experience
