responsibilities evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods and techniques on work of small projects or on portions of larger projects.receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and (where applicable) wood structures for industrial and highperformance facilities.develop and review design calculations, models, and drawings for: building frames and foundationsequipment foundations, pipe racks, platforms, mezzanines, and support structuresstructural modifications to existing facilities apply relevant building codes and standards (e.g., ibc, asce 7, aisc, aci, local codes).work as part of a multidiscipline project team (architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, civil, etc.) to coordinate structural requirements and interfaces.may contribute to quality assurance/quality control (qa/qc) reviews for structural deliverables.reviews construction documents (plans, sections, details, specifications).support the development of structural design criteria and basisofdesign documents.reviews work with supervisor to ensure the application of sound engineering practices and professional judgment.write portions of specifications and assist in preparing cost estimates.performs design work on cadd.
what you will bring: bachelor´s degree in civil engineering, with a structural emphasis (cedula and titulo is a must requirement).master degree in structural engineering (preferred).ten to twelve (10 - 12) direct years of experience as structural engineer focused on large-industrial projects.experience withprevious commercial projectssuch as education, government, higher education, retail, airports, malls, mixed-use buildings.proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as etabs, sap2000, staad, or similar.experience with building codes and standards such as: ibc, asce 7, asic, aci (an others as applicable).advanced english.
desirable skills: experience with structural work on mid- to large-size projects.familiarity with bim workflows and multi-discipline model coordination.working knowledge of revit for coordination and markup.
