Overview
mary kay is seeking an experienced it infrastructure engineer with strong route/switch and wireless networking capabilities, along with proficiency in server and end user compute environments. This role is part of a global it team responsible for implementing, supporting, and optimizing the enterprise’s international and domestic network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will support major platforms including cisco routing/switching/wireless, cato sase/sd-wan, palo alto firewalls, aruba wireless and clearpass nac, tacacs, solarwinds orion, and extrahop.
key responsibilities
* network implementation & support (primary function): perform network discovery, implementation, and operational support across global network environments.
* support lan/wan infrastructure including switches, routers, load balancers, access points, and firewalls.
* execute upgrades and resolve component failures impacting business operations.
* provide configuration changes, tuning, and infrastructure optimization.
documentation & operational excellence
* document configurations and infrastructure changes clearly and accurately.
* prepare instructions and collaborate with first-line support teams.
* maintain updated network diagrams, runbooks, and documentation.
architecture & collaboration
* participate in architecture discussions and provide network strategy recommendations.
* support cross-functional initiatives requiring network expertise.
* contribute to innovative solutions improving productivity, availability, and user experience.
troubleshooting, analysis & monitoring
* conduct root cause analysis for outages and performance issues.
* utilize protocol analyzers, netflow tools, and monitoring platforms for diagnostics.
* provide short- and long-term corrective recommendations.
* support and improve monitoring through solarwinds orion, cisco dna, meraki, and extrahop.
global operations
* may require travel within latam regions.
* participate in technical project teams involving infrastructure, automation, and cloud technologies.

planning and organization
* demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple initiatives, incidents, and priorities simultaneously.
* plan and coordinate infrastructure activities, upgrades, and changes with minimal business disruption.
required qualifications
education
* bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
experience
* 5+ years of it experience.
* 5+ years of lan networking (implementation & troubleshooting).
* 2+ years of wan experience including vpns, sase, and circuit coordination.
* strong experience with cisco, palo alto, and aruba technologies.
certifications
* required: ccna.
* preferred: ccnp, palo alto, firewall certifications, or other networking credentials.
technical skills
* strong understanding of ip networking, vlans, nat, ipsec, and bgp.
* experience with wireshark or other protocol analyzers.
* hands-on with palo alto firewalls and panorama.
* wireless networking experience (aruba, cisco, meraki).
* knowledge of solarwinds orion, cisco dna, meraki dashboards.
* understanding of sdn concepts and cloud architectures.
* advanced skills in microsoft office.

* strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
* excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, business friendly language.
