Plant quality engineer
we are seeking a proactive and skilled plant quality engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a key player in ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process and acting as a primary liaison for all customer quality-related matters.
key responsibilities
process quality & continuous improvement
* monitor and analyze key quality performance indicators (kpis) such as cost of poor quality (copq), scrap rate, and first-time quality (ftq). Lead corrective action plans and process improvement initiatives when kpis fall below target.
* utilize statistical tools like spc (statistical process control), pareto charts, and other process validation methods to ensure manufacturing processes are stable and capable.
* manage the non-conforming product process, including implementing effective containment actions and directing appropriate rework or disposition.
* ensure all control plans are accurate, up-to-date, and consistently followed on the production floor.
* conduct periodic audits of finished goods and determine appropriate sample sizes to ensure product meets all specifications.
* provide quality-related training and guidance to production teams, including operators, team leaders, and quality technicians, on new processes, quality controls, and reaction plans.
customer quality & problem solving
* serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues, ensuring timely communication and effective problem resolution.
* lead all problem-solving activities using structured methodologies, such as the 8d process, to identify root causes and implement robust corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* validate the effectiveness of containment actions for both internal and external customers to minimize the impact of quality issues.
* collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer concerns and support all quality requirements.
* support and participate in internal and external quality system audits (e.g., iso 9001, iatf
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
* 2+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing quality function
* proven experience in leading problem-solving activities and applying quality tools (8d, spc, msa, fmea, etc.).
* strong understanding and experience with quality management systems (iatf 16949 and customer specific requirements).
* excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
* strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with customers and internal teams.
* ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple customer requirements, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
* 100% fluency in business english is required
* must be proficient in microsoft powerpoint and excel
* proficiency in quality-related software and tools (e.g., minitab, statistical analysis software)
