primary purpose:
develop analysis and cost estimations of losses (structural, hydraulic, mechanical or electrical) of the aspects involved in a claim. During catastrophic events, inspectors are deployed to the damaged sites and perform inspections of losses (houses, buildings, or other structures) that were affected by storms, hurricanes or earthquakes. They are the first point of contact with insureds and are a fundamental in providing timely information related to the damages.
essential functions and responsibilities
surveys losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings or sites as needed.
investigates the origin and cause of the loss.
develops cost estimations.
provides inspection reports (including pictures) to adjusters with analysis of the loss.
conducts investigations to determine and document the scope of damage.
documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense basis.
additional functions and responsibilities
inputs wip in systems (vanguard or ctabs) and keeps it updated according to the evolution of the claim.
keeps close communication and provides relevant updates timely to sedgwick’s adjusters and other parties involved (when needed).
submit expenses timely to the corresponding area and stick to internal policies.
sticks to sedgwick's internal policies regarding claim handling best practices.
informs supervisors and the management team of any deviation or issue that might affect the company.
ensures the work is delivered with high-quality standards, meeting customers’ sla.
qualifications
education & licensing
bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, electrical engineering from an accredited college or university. We might consider students from these programs.
field experience desired in the areas of civil engineering, structural engineering, and electrical.
experience
minimum 2 years of experience in engineering and architecture activities – construction
experience in cost estimations, field evaluation of damages and generators.
