Sr Logistics Analyst – Kohler Co.
Location: Remote, Monterrey, Reciente León
BASIC FUNCTIONS
Lead and manage all aspects of inbound and outbound multimodal transportation from Asia, the United States to Mexico and the rest of Latin America excluding Brazil. Support and lead all cost optimization efforts, route efficiencies, cost monitoring and expediting processes to ensure on-time delivery for more than 30 customers in 27 countries.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with customers in Mexico and the rest of Latin America, as well as with Sales, Marketing, Trade Compliance, Warehousing, SOP, and Customer Service teams to assure that all open orders, claims, returns, and free‑of‑charge samples are delivered on time. Support recovery efforts on past‑due and aged orders.
- Supervise the tracking and expediting of all international and domestic shipments via all modes of transportation.
- Collaborate with Kohler plants in Mexico, the US, and China to tailor solutions that continuously improve lead times, cut costs, and align inbound, outbound, and domestic distribution with Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Customer Delivery goals.
- Administer international and domestic transportation programs to support Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain groups.
- Work with KBA International and US Domestic Transportation and Sourcing teams to analyze, design, optimize, and create the most effective multimodal routes for all customers in more than 27 countries.
- Partner with Import/Export and Warehousing teams to achieve a LOTIF of more than 90% for the region.
- Collaborate with Trade Compliance and Import‑Export teams on tariff mitigation and route optimizations to avoid duties, tariffs, and penalties.
- Coordinate with logistics operators such as Customs Brokers, inland and ocean freight suppliers, forwarders, etc.
- Track and drive supply chain cost improvements; support Supply Chain Leadership on transportation sourcing, route optimization, and tariff mitigation efforts.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Daily contact with the Director and Supply Chain Manager for Latin America, and their staff, as well as with KBA Supply Chain Organization and Asia Supply Chain teams.
- Frequent interaction with Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service organizations, including leadership teams across the Americas.
- Regular collaboration with Subsidiary Compliance associates, Sourcing Team in America, Finance Teams, and Manufacturing Plants.
- Occasional contact with Kohler Co. Trade Compliance.
EXTERNAL BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS
- Frequent contact with Kohler Co. and subsidiary freight forwarders and customs brokers.
- Regular interaction with air, rail, express, and surface carriers for Kohler Operations, Asia and US, and Mexico Manufacturing Plants.
- Customers in Mexico and across Latin America, excluding Brazil.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, International or Global Business, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in import and export operations with a multi‑product line importer.
- Experience with Customs processes and systems, international freight routing analysis, and successful management of customs broker relationships.
- Experience with U.S. bound import/export regulatory compliance, customs entry review, CTPAT, OEA, and other programs.
- Experience in sourcing to support bids, negotiations, customs binding ruling processes, trade program certification, and import process auditing.
- U.S. Visa and passport required.
- Professional demeanor and strong planning, organization, negotiation, analytical, and computer skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
