A one stop digital payment solution provider is seeking a dynamic and experienced regional leader, latam to join our leadership team. This strategic role will spearhead our omnichannel merchant acquiring business across the two largest economies in latin america. The ideal candidate will drive growth by collaborating with local partners to offer competitive domestic and global payment channels, while working hand-in-hand with our embedded lending team to develop robust credit strategies tailored to both brazilian and mexican merchants.
key responsibilities:
* strategic leadership: lead and oversee the omnichannel merchant acquiring business in brazil and mexico, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability by targeting high-growth merchants with import/export operations and domestic scale.
* regulatory compliance: ensure full compliance with local regulations (including bacen/cvm in brazil and cnbv/banxico in mexico) and worldfirst's operational standards.
* partnership management: collaborate with strategic local partners and acquirers to deliver cutting-edge merchant solutions (e.g., pix in brazil, spei in mexico, and global card schemes).
* product innovation: partner with the embedded lending team to design and implement merchant lending strategies that align with the specific credit landscapes of both markets.
* market intelligence: monitor regional trends, competitor activities, and fintech innovations to identify growth opportunities in the latam cluster.
* stakeholder engagement: foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including top-tier merchants, financial partners, and regulatory authorities in both countries.
* cross-functional collaboration: drive synergy between the brazilian and mexican teams to ensure seamless execution of global business strategies.
requirements:
* education: bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field (mba preferred).
* experience: minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, merchant acquiring, or fintech leadership roles within the financial services industry, with a proven track record in the latam region.
* market knowledge: deep understanding of the brazilian and mexican financial ecosystems, payment regulations, and merchant behaviors.
* results-oriented: proven ability to drive business growth and p&l performance in complex, multi-country environments.
* soft skills: exceptional communication, negotiation, and cross-cultural relationship-building skills.
* adaptability: ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and remote-collaborative environment.
* languages: fluency in english is mandatory.
* location: based in mexico (with availability for frequent regional travel).
