job description
assists in the management of ongoing project engineering supply chain plans, key milestones, and objectives, to ensure deliverables are aligned with customer’s operational needs and requirements. Determines project engineering non-conformance and subsequent corrective and preventive actions, by documenting, investigating, and conducting root cause analysis, and successfully implementing corrective actions. Delivers capital and expense forecasts for assigned engineering projects, to ensure outputs adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements. Defines process validations on project engineering processes for subsequent operational integration and supply chain implementation. Directs individual supervision of project engineering technicians by supporting and enforcing site-specific safety and industrial hygiene requirements. Implements processes to escalate in a timely manner any project engineering issues or concerns to the next management level. Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities. Understands and applies johnson & johnson’s credo and leadership imperatives in day-to-day interactions with the team.

we are searching for the best talent for staff equipment engineer to be in ciudad juarez, mexico.
you will be responsible for
* executing specific automation-related capital projects from design through construction, equipment concept validation, and approval.
* performing characterization, qualification, and equipment validation activities as needed to bring new automation systems into production.
* evaluating and implementing new automation technologies into manufacturing operations; designing, selecting, and installing hardware and software upgrades.
* troubleshooting and testing new equipment.
* monitoring and analyzing data to identify areas of trouble or opportunities for improvement.
* maintaining and administering manufacturing equipment control systems in support of daily process operations.
* executing machine and process improvements on automation systems post-release to support operational objectives in yield, uptime, reliability, etc.
* writing and reviewing documentation (procedures, instructions, qualification plans and reports, corrective action plans, etc.).
* ensuring safe working conditions and practices in the department and supporting plant safety requirements.
* participating as a project implementation team member and supporting manufacturing systems interconnected to the equipment.

requirements
education
* engineering degree.
* masters or doctorate in science or engineering preferred.
* bilingual (english-spanish) required.
an advanced degree such as an ms or mba is preferred. Strong project management and cross-functional business experience. 6 to 8 years’ experience in highly automated manufacturing systems implementation and support.
experience and skills
* basic knowledge of the osi model layers.
* experience with machine vision systems programming (cognex preferred).
* experience with opc servers and/or wincc (kepware/omniserver, etc.).
* experience with system interconnections (tcp/ip, rs232, mpi, profibus, etc.).
* strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* experience with good documentation practices.
* bilingual in spanish & english.
preferred qualifications
* experience with sql databases or other database formats.
* medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience.
* knowledge of equipment validation documents (sor, srs, csv, iq, etc.).
* experience with design of experiments and statistical process control.
* certifications from siemens, cognex, or allen bradley are a plus.
