a software controls engineer (aviation) position is available at belcan. This is a full-time, direct hire role. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related field. The role involves supporting the requirements, design, development, coding, and testing of aircraft engine electronic systems and prognostic health management (phm) systems software. Experience in developing software for aircraft electronic systems and phm systems is advantageous.
key responsibilities
1. develop safety-critical software for aircraft engines electronic systems and phm systems.
2. complete the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, and verification.
3. utilize advanced customer technologies and tools to address complex engineering challenges.
4. support software verification and validation for embedded electronic systems.
5. write code in c, python, and other structured programming languages.
6. develop software and tests using ansys scade and npss.
7. analyze existing software to improve and troubleshoot issues.
8. present technical reviews and project updates to various forums.
9. lead projects from initiation to completion, adhering to customer procedures.
10. mentor junior engineers to facilitate their professional growth.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in relevant engineering disciplines.
* 6-15 years of related experience, with specific experience in aircraft electronic systems and phm systems.
* proven hands-on experience with electronics, software development, and technical leadership.
* self-motivated, organized, and adaptable individuals will thrive.
desired skills
* strong collaboration skills for working with customers and team members.
* experience in writing software requirements and design documentation.
* knowledge of aircraft or safety-critical systems.
* experience integrating software onto hardware platforms.
* proficiency in c and familiarity with requirement management tools like doors.
* experience with ansys scade or npss is a plus.
* knowledge of six sigma tools is advantageous.
