role purpose:
this key role within the global chief control office (cco) function directly supports the group’s chief operating officers (coo) within hsbc, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations. The cco function’s purpose is to enable over 80,000 colleagues within global service centers to deliver a safe and secure service to all our customers, colleagues, and the bank itself.
main activities:
1. implementing robust risk governance and ensuring all stakeholders have visibility of key risks and remediation activities.
2. monitoring risk appetite in line with business requirements.
3. conducting high-quality and efficient reviews of gsc, utility business services, and control performance.
4. implementing enhancements across gscs, utility business services, and sharing best practices with colleagues and stakeholders.
5. increasing awareness and engagement, and ensuring risk is proactively considered in all gsc and shared services activities.
6. educating gsc and shared services leadership teams on the health of the control environment, identifying and communicating the need for intervention to ensure appropriate controls are in place.
7. executing risk communication and engagement plans across gscs and shared services.
