role purpose:
the employee vetting function develops standards and procedures to identify and mitigate fraud and related risks, managing the bank’s vetting operations. The role supports all vetting responsibilities as directed by the regional head of employee vetting, adhering to group fraud/vetting policies unless legal or regulatory restrictions apply.
main activities:
* support vetting checks for all new employees, focusing on re-vetting high-risk individuals to reduce insider hiring risks.
* assist initiatives/projects under the regional head of vetting and vetting managers to address control and process gaps.
* provide guidance to offshore vetting teams and coordinate with vetting vendors as needed.
* investigate cases with adverse results, liaising with stakeholders to assess residual risks before final vetting decisions.
* build strong relationships with hr, legal, and global business/functions teams.
* challenge vetting controls, processes, and content under the direction of the regional head and vetting managers.
* support onshore checks by collaborating with fraud, employee relations, and legal teams.
* cross-train regional team members to ensure operational resilience.
