- fluent in spanish and english (written and verbal).
- minimum of 3 years of experience as a freight broker.
- strong knowledge of the transportation industry ranging from import, export, cross border, port terminals, and or supply chain.
- knowledge of united states transportation regulations, compliance, geography, and markets.
- effective negotiation and communication skills, ability to multitask, and a strong sense of urgency.
- experience in transportation sales and account management.
- effectively manage customer and carrier relationships.
- proficient with computers including using transportation management software for dispatching and tracking shipments.
- proficient with but not limited to: outlook, teams, excel.
- ability to work in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
- source and secure new transportation lanes, carriers, and customers for freight transportation.
- understand market conditions and analyze information to make timely and effective decisions.
- use effective negotiation and sales strategies in discussing pricing and selling services with the customer.
- negotiate rates and terms with carriers aligned with pre-determined company rate tables.
- dispatch drivers for u.s.
domestic shipment pick-ups and deliveries.
- coordinate and schedule shipments, ensuring timely delivery.
- develop and maintain positive customer and carrier relationships.
- promote compliance with dot regulations and establish internal policies and guidelines.
- resolve any issues or delays in transportation, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications.
- responsible for growing and retaining a customer portfolio.
- cultivate opportunity to meet & exceed monthly net revenue and volume expectations.
- understand negotiated payment terms and processes and ensure timely invoicing through monthly reviews.
- established effective working relationships with internal departments.
- report and present key performance metrics to executives.
