as a senior azure sql dba, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our database infrastructure. Responsibilities
- creating and implementing effective resolution steps to address problems and improve system performance
- documenting the resolution steps in order to develop comprehensive runbooks and enhance the knowledge base for future reference
- monitoring and managing storage capacity within the cluster, and assisting in capacity planning to support future project goals
- diagnosing and troubleshooting production issues as they arise, ensuring prompt resolution to minimize downtime
*requirements*:
- familiarity with sql azure and experience working with it
- proficiency in managing and configuring always on availability groups and cluster features
- strong analytical skills that enable you to identify effective approaches to solve business challenges
- understanding of database best practices, and the ability to advocate for and implement those practices within the organization
nice to have
- experience with writing and optimizing sql queries
- prior experience with on-call support
- datadog or similar monitoring tool (splunk, kibana)
- powershell scripting (related to sql db or windows server)
