organization and role
the vmo team at hpinc. manages all 3rd party labor spend within d&to; organization. In last 2 years d&to; team has driven multiple transformation programs to align with business and stakeholder priorities. There is renewed focus on reducing our run $$ and reinvest that $$ in innovation. 3rd party labor makes up 50% of overall dto spend and we are looking at transformative ways of managing that spend and this role will help us drive that. As part of vmo dto team at hp, ims vmo labor leader, will ensure operational and financial excellence for our 3rd party labor spend across dto ims category. This includes identifying, maintaining and managing our preferred pool of vendors for dto spend in infrastructure maintenance, support & solution labor space. A significant and immediate component of this role is to drive vendor transformation program focused on ims vendor consolidation and enforcing usage of new technologies in their work products to further improve efficiencies.
key responsibilities
* partner with dto stakeholders and gip to identify, manage & govern dto 3rd party ims labor vendors
* focus approach in managing tiered vendors in ims space and set up review cadence with strategic vendors to evaluate and improve their operational and financial performance
* manage senior relationships and escalated issues with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensure that the organization is effectively leveraging outsourced resources
* hold vendors accountable and optimize resources to free up for innovation and transformation
* set up cadence and governance with key stakeholders to provide regular updates on operations stability, continuous improvements and financial excellence
education and qualifications
* bachelor's degree, preferably in technology or business administration
* master's or higher degree preferred
* typically 12 or more years of related work experience, including 5 years of expert level experience
knowledge and skills
* strong leadership skills, including coaching, team-building, and conflict resolution
* extensive business, financial, and procurement acumen in digital and technology areas
* strong skills in operational management including budget and business planning and forecasting
* strong financial negotiation skills with managed services providers and understanding of ims vendor landscape
* key understanding of technology landscape as it relates to infrastructure/dc/network landscape in high‑tech company like hp
* skilled in metrics and data‑driven process to hold vendor accountable while working in collaboration mode
* advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences
* advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting with senior management and executive roles for internal and external partners
