job overview
we are looking for a staff accountant with strong bookkeeping fundamentals and client-facing experience to support our growing portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who can independently manage multiple client accounts, handle day-to-day accounting tasks, and communicate effectively with clients.
key responsibilities
* manage 4–5 client accounts independently with minimal supervision
* perform core bookkeeping tasks, including:
o bank and account reconciliations
o journal entries and financial record maintenance
* prepare and support financial reports and filings (sales tax experience is a plus)
* communicate directly with clients, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
* assist with client onboarding and ongoing account maintenance
* work within systems such as shopify and internal tools
* ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data across accounts
* support process improvements and documentation when needed
* collaborate with senior team members on projects and workflow execution
qualifications – required
* 2 + years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
* strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial processes
* experience managing multiple clients or accounts simultaneously
* excellent written and verbal communication skills (client-facing role)
* high attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* ability to work independently in a remote environment
qualifications – preferred
* experience with e-commerce accounting (shopify is a plus)
* familiarity with sales tax processes or exposure to tools like avalara
* experience working with u.s.-based clients
* proficiency in excel or google sheets
