The Role
The Material Planner within the Supply Chain / Operations team is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of direct materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role contributes to operational efficiency by managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring materials flow aligns with production needs.
What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)
Material Planning & Execution
- Plan direct materials by creating and managing purchase orders with suppliers.
- Ensure availability of raw materials and components aligned with production requirements.
- Monitor and manage material supply from PO release to point of use.
Inventory Management
- Control and optimize inventory levels based on defined targets (e.g., safety stock, min/max levels).
- Analyze and maintain Days on Hand (DOH) to balance availability and cost efficiency.
- Ensure accurate inventory records within ERP systems.
Supplier Coordination
- Track and follow up on supplier purchase orders to ensure on-time and in-full delivery.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to resolve delays and supply issues.
Process Improvement & Systems Accuracy
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities within material planning processes.
- Maintain clean and accurate ERP/system data to support decision-making.
- Contribute to tactical planning initiatives to optimize material flow and inventory.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with production, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure alignment.
- Support interdepartmental initiatives that benefit plant performance and business outcomes.

What You Bring (Qualifications)
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in material planning, supply chain, or production control.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices (safety stock, min/max, MRP).
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- English proficiency (~85% or intermediate–advanced).
Preferred:
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with production planning and supply chain optimization.
- Experience driving process improvements or CI initiatives.
Work Model & Travel
- Location: Manufacturing plant (on-site role).
- Work model: Primarily onsite due to operational requirements.
- Travel: Limited, depending on supplier or project needs.
