the mission takes place in a context of transferring activity from grand prairie facility to mexicali facility safran electronics and defense aftermarket division. The project manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The project manager will also oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.
responsibilities
* develop comprehensive project plans that align with company goals and objectives.
* manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
* provide weekly reports of project progress, including delays, risks, budget, and actions.
* oversee the execution of projects related to mro transfer, ensuring compliance with aviation industry standards and regulations (e.g., faa part 145, iata).
* implement and utilize project management tools to track progress, costs, and performance against the project plan.
* act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including internal teams, airlines, manufacturers, regulatory counterparts, and third-party logistics providers.
* identify potential project risks, particularly those related to the aviation industry, and assess and mitigate risks with contingency plans.
* lead initiatives to enhance efficiency within aviation distribution centers, optimizing processes for inventory management, order fulfillment, and parts distribution.
* implement lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices to minimize waste and improve operational workflows.
* maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.
* oversee the development and implementation of distribution center operations, ensuring optimal workflow and efficiency.
* support initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainability within aviation distribution centers (carbon footprint, waste management, environmentally friendly practices).
* foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
qualifications
* bachelor's degree in project management, logistics, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
* 5+ years of project management experience, particularly in distribution centers or similar environments.
* strong understanding of distribution center operations and logistics.
* proven track record of managing projects within deadlines and budgets.
* excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* proficiency in project management software (e.g., microsoft project, asana, trello).
* project management certification preferred.
