*job description*:
*position summary*:
this position is responsible for support of general ledger, specifically for month end /yead end closing, account reconciliations and analysis, and financial reporting.
*essential functions*:
- account reconciliations ranging from bank reconciliations to customer rebates reconciliations and analysis
- month-end/year end close activities including journal entries, corporate reporting and rollover of balances
- inter and intracompany eliminations, reporting and reconciliations
- sap month end processing including assessments, allocations, and foreign exchange valuation.
- ifrs reporting packages preparation
- communicate to central finance team on status of monthly closing including the preparation and submission of sem german gaap reporting
- lead posting of freight activity and re-allocation of freight expenses
- assist other areas of finance with various projects and questions
- assist with kmpg (interim/final) audit requests
- special projects as assigned by manager
*knowledge*:
- knowledge of gaap/ifrs and deep understanding of account reconciliations, accounting principles and procedures.
*experience*:
- 1-4+ years of experience in general accounting within a manufacturing or public accounting environment.
- sap or other erp experience strongly preferred.
*skills*:
- advanced skills in microsoft office (specifically excel).
- able to confidently and efficiently correspond to all levels of management.
- advanced independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- shows commitment to process improvement.
*education*:
- bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business related field required.
- accounting strongly preferred.
