Position summary
a warehouse supervisor is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and monitoring daily activity in a warehouse. They work with warehouse employees to monitor and record inventory of what goes in and out of a company's facility.
responsibilities
* supervise and manage warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
* ensure the safety of warehouse staff and promote a culture of safety throughout the warehouse.
* oversee the receiving, storing, and shipping of products, including inventory management and accuracy.
* monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure that product is available for order fulfillment.
* work with other departments, such as purchasing and sales, to ensure efficient inventory management and timely order fulfillment.
* maintain accurate records of inventory accuracy, material handling damage and warehouse operations.
* ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, quality system and regulatory requirements.
* participate in the development and implementation of warehouse policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
* direct support to cycle count program.
* monitor excesses and obsolete weekly during each change of order from engineering team.
qualifications
* high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
* 4-8 years of experience in warehouse management or a related field.
* knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping and receiving procedures.
physical & environmental demands
* the role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.
* required to wear personal protective equipment (ppe) and adhere to safety protocols.
* the role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
* occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits.
* work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.
time travel required
may travel to different office or plants locations, client sites, or conferences may be necessary.
