who you are
you're a curious problem solver who brings big ideas to life. You're creative, scrappy, agile, adaptable, and capable of navigating a large organization with ease. You also have:
* 7+ years of relevant experience in occupational safety, health, and environmental management in a heavy‑industrial manufacturing environment (global diversified company).
* bachelor's degree in ehs management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, health & safety, environmental engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
* ehs certification (e.g., chmm, csp) preferred.
* strong knowledge in machine safety, nfpa 70e, loto, ergonomics, hoist & crane, management systems, and ehs local regulations.
* bilingual in spanish and english; some level of portuguese preferred.
what you'll do
this role was formed to provide technical ehs support to ensure full ehs compliance before, during, and after project execution.
* business partner with ehs manager and project leader.
* support plant manager and regional ehs director.
* ensure full compliance with the management of change (moc).
* conduct machine risk assessments and guarantee machine safety compliance.
* conduct ergonomic risk assessments and suggest risk‑reduction actions.
* ensure compliance with all legal regulations and company policies.
* interpret, translate, and implement ehs programs and policies in the plant and project teams.
* lead incident investigations and produce four‑block summaries with root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
* support all moc activities.
* align the project with environmental objectives (zero waste to landfill, energy and water conservation).
* provide ehs training for contractors and project personnel.
* respond to agency inspections and other ehs legal authority requirements related to the project.
* assure permit compliance and data entry.
* report directly to the regional ehs director and receive local ehs support.
* this is a full‑time on‑site position.
