Operations specialist, remote assistance

about the team doordash labs is an independent team within doordash. We explore robotics and automation to transform last-mile logistics in the long term. If you have a passion for applying robotics solutions in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you!

about the role we’re looking for detail-oriented and proactive individuals to support our remote assistance operations. This role is required to be 100% on-site, since the technology required can only be used in our facilities in torre mitikah at mexico city and it involves working and speaking with u.s. teams.

in this role, you’ll monitor and assist autonomous robots, troubleshoot issues, and provide real-time feedback to enhance system efficiency. You’ll work closely with shift leads, engineers, and team members to ensure smooth operations.

shift: this role requires flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with shifts ranging from 8 am – 12 am cst, monday through sunday.

what you’ll do

* operate & assist: use remote assistance software to support autonomous robots navigating public roads.
* monitor & report: identify and document technical or operational issues, escalating them as needed.
* communicate & collaborate: work closely with shift leads and engineering teams to improve system performance.
* ensure safety & compliance: follow strict safety protocols and u.s. road laws and handle public interactions professionally.
* adapt & improve: quickly adjust to software updates, new workflows, and process changes while providing constructive feedback.

what you bring

required qualifications

* education: high school diploma, ged, or local equivalent.
* driver's license: valid driver's license
* language & communication: proficiency in english (b2 level or higher, written and spoken) for effective communication and documentation.
* technical skills: computer proficiency, including navigating applications and web-based tools.
* comfortable working on a computer for extended hours.
* familiarity with google suite (sheets, docs, slides, forms, calendar).
* problem-solving & critical thinking: strong attention to detail in identifying and documenting inefficiencies.
* ability to make quick decisions in fast-paced situations.
* safety & public interaction: ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
* commitment to safety protocols and professional handling of public interactions.
* work environment: flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
* ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

preferred qualifications

* preferred bachelor’s degree (no specific major)
* experience in autonomous vehicles, remote assistance, logistics, customer support, dispatch, or technical support.
* familiarity with slack and jira.
* strong verbal communication skills for real-time coordination.
* ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements.
