responsibilities
key responsibilities:
* leading the npi process: this includes developing and implementing plans to move products from initial design to full-scale production, ensuring all milestones are met and timelines are adhered to.
* cross-functional team leadership: collaborating with various teams like engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, and potentially external suppliers, to ensure seamless integration and execution of the npi process.
* technical expertise: providing guidance on product design, manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting, often involving hands-on technical execution.
* quality assurance: ensuring products meet quality and performance standards, including validation, reliability testing, and addressing any quality excursions during production.
* process optimization: identifying and implementing improvements to manufacturing processes, reducing cycle times, and enhancing overall product quality.
* documentation and compliance: managing product documentation, including boms, engineering change orders (ecos), and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* factory readiness: preparing the manufacturing facility for new product launches, including equipment setup, process validation, and training.
* supplier management: overseeing supplier qualification, ppap activities, and validation of external manufacturing processes.
* travel: the role may involve international travel to collaborate with global teams or visit suppliers.
