position purpose:
perform tests and analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure quality for internal and external customers; monitor special tests for rework and batch scaling in production; support deviation investigations (rcas) and sample analyses for development products. Support activities necessary for the proper operation and management of the laboratory (compliance with hseq guidelines, good laboratory practices, administrative activities, method and procedure development and implementation, training, kpis, waste disposal, 6’s program). This is a permanent shift role (8x8).
main activities and responsibilities (up to 8):
1. perform physicochemical analyses of incoming samples
o analyze raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products for release or rejection in sap.
o follow up on laboratory-scale testing needs.
o physicochemical analysis of samples for product development to characterize and establish quality specifications.
2. monitor laboratory kpis such as rtft (right first time). Support reliability programs and other laboratory activities
o detect and document non-conforming products or first-time-right issues.
o create out-of-specification protocols.
o record and analyze reliability data.
3. provide effective and efficient support to the pu laboratory for its technical operation, including:
o continuous improvement projects and good laboratory practices.
o development/update of laboratory methods and procedures.
o compliance with established hseq guidelines, nm, jsbo, jha documentation.
o follow-up and closure of corrective actions from audits, safety rounds, incidents, etc.
4. support activities:
o corrective, preventive maintenance, and calibration of equipment.
o preparation of reagents and solutions to maintain good inventory for shift roles.
o compliance with r&r studies.
o follow-up on training and development programs (e.g., internal auditor, 6’s auditor, development plans).
o ensure kpi compliance.
o proper waste disposal as per guidelines and managing the sump.
5. manage quality movements in sap p1p
o decision-making on raw material or finished product release (free or blocked).
decision-making authority:
the role is guided by instructions and routines with some flexibility to reorganize tasks; supervision is close.
key relationships:
internal: production, warehouse, ims & safety, lab atpu
external: customers (via certificates of analysis)
position profile:
education, skills, and experience:
* technical degree (laboratory technician) or similar, with 5+ years of experience in the chemical industry or laboratory analysis, or a degree in chemical engineering, qfb, if, or similar with 1+ years of relevant experience.
* knowledge of good laboratory/manufacturing practices.
* skills in handling laboratory equipment and adapting to new analytical instruments.
* ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks independently.
* effective analytical and data review skills, basic statistical knowledge, and basic office skills.
