Overview AVP – Operational Resilience, CIB Risk Capability Office at HSBC. This role is part of Global Service Center (GSC) HSBC and involves contributing to the Operational Resilience framework across CIB, with autonomy under guidance from senior management and the Associate Director, Resilience Risk (line manager).
Role Purpose The role holder will operate with a high degree of autonomy to perform responsibilities independently, working closely with (but often independently from) colleagues across CIB Business Risk.
Main Activities Robust Business Analysis working with the business to conceptualize solutions/operating models.
Change Adoption activities to embed change, drive benefit realization and support ongoing improvement opportunity to annual lifecycle delivery.
Plan and play a key role in executing Operational Resilience framework refresh activity and governance preparation for the CIB in US / Mexico.
Deliver allocated activities supporting CIB BR across US / Mexico (existing scope focused on GPS/CCM).
Lead and manage risk-related delivery of Operational Resilience refresh for the CIB Important Business Services, including preparation of governance material.
Plan, manage and adapt refresh lifecycle activities to support Operational Resilience framework delivery, working closely with GPS and CCM.
Collaborate and build positive stakeholder relationships, providing regular updates on progress and timely escalations with support from the CIB BR team / entities.
Maintain sound knowledge of the operational risk & control environment and related disciplines.
Familiarity with Operational Resilience in US and/or UK/global contexts; awareness of regulatory regimes such as DORA (EU) / Critical Operations (HK) as relevant.
Requirements 4+ years of relevant experience including background in Risk Management.
Resilience and Risk Management: Understanding of operational resilience and incident management processes.
Governance and Oversight: Strong documentation skills, experience with oversight of programs and internal controls, familiarity with audit and compliance requirements.
Analytical skills and Reporting: Ability to analyze management information and generate reports meeting stakeholder requirements.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills, experience managing program governance and oversight frameworks, ability to drive refresh activities and coordinate cross-functionally.
Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and senior stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment in financial services.
Proven problem-solving skills with ability to propose process improvements and advise stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure within a team environment.
