we are seeking a seasoned network security specialist to spearhead the design, implementation and maintenance of secure network infrastructures that safeguard our organization from cyber threats.
the ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of network security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management.
about the role
* network security design & implementation: develop and maintain robust network architectures, including firewalls, vpns, network access control, and intrusion prevention systems. A deep understanding of network protocols, architectures, devices, infrastructure, application transport, and wan/lan/wlan/sdwan topologies is essential.
* network administration: collaborate closely with the network engineering team on network performance maintenance and troubleshooting. Perform configuration changes and updates on network security tools and assist with operational procedures.
* threat detection & response: monitor network traffic for suspicious activity using network auditing and policy orchestration tools, investigate security incidents, and implement mitigation strategies.
* vulnerability management: conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and patch management to address vulnerabilities. Identify vulnerabilities and conduct penetration testing.
* security policy development: establish and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect company assets. Stay up-to-date with the latest security standards, systems, and authentication protocols.
* compliance & risk management: ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., nist, iso 27001) and regulatory requirements. Provide technical advice on network security issues to staff and management.
* incident response & recovery: develop and execute incident response plans, including forensic analysis and post-incident reporting. Respond to, investigate, and resolve security incidents and breaches.
about you
* proven work experience as a network security specialist or similar role in network administration.
* a strong knowledge base and hands-on experience with networking concepts and terminology, tcp/ip, http protocols and vpns.
* proficiency in network security systems and tools (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
* hands-on experience with lan, wan, wlan, and wwan design and implementation.
* effective communication and documentation skills.
* the ability to thrive in fast-paced, security-sensitive environments.
* collaboration and teamwork across it security domains.
