test engineer ii position in the sil mt group is responsible for developing electrical design concepts, 2d drafting and coordinate the generation of electrical drawings for electrical components test cell upgrades and manufacturing of special test equipment for the new test solutions needed at hon test facilities in the mexicali campus. Test equipment includes hydraulic, electrical and control systems, electrical interfaces to facility power sources, electrical interfaces with units under test, test adapters mech design among other electromechanical design aspects. Also responsible for engineering substantiation thru basic analytical capabilities and coordinate the implementation of the test solution through the hon aerospace engineering process.
*key responsibilities*
- define/design electrical test concept and special test equipment based on test requirements and available footprint and facility electrical energy sources and interfaces for new facility test systems and/or facility required modifications to install electrical components and other test assets that involves new test capabilities to be implemented at hon mexicali campus
- develop basic electrical systems.define one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and electrical detailed drawings with a basic understanding of most common manufacturing processes to develop a design concept for aircraft component electric test solution
- generate test solution computer aid design (cad) models. Have the capability to build basic to complex electric diagrams, drafting and assemblies. Build basic 2d electrical schematics to represent the concept design and support validation
- create evidence and documentation for the design reviews required to consolidate the test solutions design process
- create boms, identify long lead items, create rfqs and coordinate material procurement process
- understanding of electric design process and electrical drawing standards.
- proficiency of microsoft office applications. Position is responsible of electrical test engineering process and present status to project stakeholders in a regular basis
- keep tracking and document lesson learned, best practices, test problems and cost and cycle time reduction opportunities associated with the mechanical design process
- demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication in spanish and english. Effective communication with management, test leads and hon mrtc support groups
*you must have*:
- b.s. degree in engineering
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical test positions or equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary
- english intermediate
- autocad proficient in drawings development
- demonstrated commitment to safe working practices
