* as head of purchasing north america, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the purchasing strategy for both mexico and the u.s. operations. You will oversee all aspects of purchasing - from strategic sourcing and supplier development to operational procurement and new program launches.
* this is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role where you'll be empowered to build and develop a local supplier base, lead negotiations, and support new business acquisitions as the company continues its rapid expansion.
key responsibilities
* develop and execute the purchasing strategy for north america (mexico & usa).
* establish and manage a local supplier base for key commodities- e.g. plastics
* lead supplier negotiations, performance management, and cost optimization initiatives.
* collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and program management to support new product launches and business development.
* ensure alignment with global purchasing and corporate strategy.
ideal candidate profile
* automotive tier 1 background with proven experience in strategic purchasing.
* solid understanding of mechanical commodities (plastics and/or metals).
* experience in supplier quality management is a plus.
* excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
* a communicative, energetic, and passionate leader who thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
* fluent english required; additional languages are a plus.
