Job summary:
freight operations coordinator
we are seeking a highly skilled freight operations coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing daily support to our clients to drive customer satisfaction and retention.
you will execute on the frontline service that includes timely delivery of finished goods to store shelves, raw materials to manufacturers, medical equipment to hospitals, and more.
the objective is to provide high-quality visibility through customer reports, timely responses, and case resolution for customers, and exceptional freight operations support.
a typical day in this role includes:
* proactively tracking shipments and recommending solutions for delayed shipments
* completing daily tracking reports for assigned customers
* serving inbound customer requests from designated high freight spend accounts
* communicating with carriers on behalf of the customers
* answering phones and responding to emails
* identifying the best transit solution based on specific shipment requirements
* building strong relationships with customers
* developing and maintaining relationships with local terminals to reduce service failures
* scheduling pickups and delivery appointments
* actively communicating with operations manager regarding potential services gaps or opportunities for process improvement
* following up on all unconfirmed or rejected pickup requests
* maintaining detailed and organized documentation of all service failures
requirements:
* bachelor's degree in supply chain/logistics/international business or related field preferred
* superior customer service skills, including ability to recognize customer needs and effectively address them through active communication
* fluent in english
* experience working in crm and tms systems a plus
* excellent written and verbal communication skills
* ability to calculate percentages, formulas, and use spatial reasoning
* proficient in excel
